Statutory Data Retention & Exceptions
Please note that under current RBI regulations, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws, Income Tax regulations, and Credit Information Companies (CIC) reporting frameworks:
- Active Loan Obligations: If you currently have an outstanding active loan or unpaid dues, account deletion cannot be processed until the total outstanding loan balance is fully cleared and closed.
- Statutory Retention Requirements: Data related to completed transactions, KYC records, loan agreements, and audit trails must be retained for the minimum statutory period (up to 5 years) as mandated by RBI.
